As you know, my name is Cheryl and I am the owner and principal designer of Luxe Interiors and Events. I am an Atlanta based celebrity interior designer. I have been married to a wonderful man, Sherrod, for almost 5 years. We have an adorable Shi-Poo, by the name of CoCo. She will be 5 years old in August. You will see a lot of the both of them throughout the photography on my blog. We work together in both our business and we love to travel. We were married in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. So, there is lot more of the world for us to see and share with you. I love architecture and fashion. So, you will see how those two influence how I design. I am an admitted blinger. I love all things bling. I think bling was invented so that I can have objects that mirror my personality....always sparkling!!! So, stay tuned.....
My career in interior design is anything but typical. I am a self taught designer. What does that mean to you??? That means that, like others, I saw that I held an eye, a talent. and a passion for decor, great design, and architecture. I attended design school, to back up my suspicions that I could be an awesome interior designer. My suspicions were correct. After receiving my Bachelors degree in marketing.......I decided to take the leap of faith and further my education by attending the Art Institute of Atlanta. I knew that I indeed wanted to launch a business in interior design. Thank God, for foresight. He knew that marketing degree would come in handy.
On my interior design journey, I have enjoyed decorating through retail establishments, where I worked....as well as clients that I cultivated on my own. I have been fortunate enough to utilize my God-given talent and skills to decorate residences all around the Atlanta metro area, as well as interiors as far west as the Hollywood Hills in California, to the east Coast in Connecticut. I have also expanded my career to include event design and decor. I have taken my attention to detail and used it to create elaborate events and lounges for corporate and social clients, alike. I am also an accredited home stager. In addition to the fact that I am an awesome interior designer, one of things that I am most proud of is my career in TV/Film and Theater. I was fortunate enough to have a demanding career as a Set Decorator and Production Designer on some of the most popular TV shows and Films around. I have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. I have decorated for household names like Tyler Perry and Will Packer (Think Like A Man), and Lisa Nicole Cloud (Married to Medicine). My VIP lounges and galas have wowed celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Hudson, Morgan Freeman, just to name a few. Not saying all this to brag, but to let you know that my world can get a little crazy!! One day I might be decorating for a new homeowner in a quiet suburb, and the next day I may be found at a celebrity mixer walking the red carpet.
